Que Pasa TV’s Season 6 Episode 6 features a special visit with renowned Italian sculptor, Dante Mortet, who unveiled his sculptures of the iconic Soccer superstar, Pelé, the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey’s “Countdown to The World Cup” event at The American Dream Mall on June 10th of this year.

With New Jersey set to host eight World Cup matches in 2026—including the final at MetLife Stadium — this event is all about getting the community excited and businesses ready for the great influx of both visitors and revenue to the area.  It also served as the perfect setting for Dante Mortet to show his works of both art and sport to the world.

In his conversation with Carlos, Dante discussed his Mano Artigiana project, which immortalizes soccer legends such as Pelé and Diego Maradona in hand-cast bronze.

"True passion—that's what drives sports and fútbol. And when that same passion is channeled through art, you get something powerful. These are forces worth watching closely, because once they're set in motion, they speak louder than words," says Mortet.

Mortet reflected on his family's six-generation legacy of sacred sculpture and how it has evolved to honor athletes as modern icons. His reflections on art, identity and tradition show that fútbol’s legacy extends beyond the field, shaping the culture it continues to inspire and to promote.
